Salt dosing
Do you need to calculate the correct amount of salt for your pool or hot tub?
Select the type and find out the correct amount of salt for your pool or hot tub to ensure the water is always perfectly clean.

How does it work?

A saltwater system is a device designed to treat water in a swimming pool or spa hot tub. Using electrolysis, it converts dissolved salt (NaCl) into active chlorine, which ensures continuous water disinfection. Salt itself is not a disinfectant - it serves as a raw material from which the saltwater purifier produces chlorine.

To ensure the system works correctly and safely, it is essential to maintain the correct salt concentration. If it is too low, the chlorinator will not produce enough chlorine; conversely, too high a level may negatively affect pool surfaces and equipment

Other practical tips:
  • Salt should not remain in just one spot on the bottom. To speed up dissolving, you can evenly spread the salt across the pool floor, for example using a broom.
  • Check whether your saltwater chlorinator at a certain salt level requires special dosing or other settings – follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Keep in mind that, although the salt itself does not evaporate, some of it can be lost when refilling water, cleaning the filtration system, or when it gets washed away.
  • After 24–48 hours, measure salinity and adjust if necessary.
